Hello Everyone,
Welcome to my first blog this is very strange to me because I do not post things on the web. My experience with the Journey on relaxation was amazing and strangely soothing. It took a few minutes for me to get into a deep thought process to really enjoy and achieve the reactions that the gentleman was trying have happen. Once I found my breathing and thought process I felt this amazing experience and the warmth was quite invigorating. I will assuredly continue this technique because the stress relief that took place during this time was amazing, the power of the mind and suggestion is simply astonishing.
Speaking of "warmth" and "the power of the mind," have you seen the TV ads for the new Columbia OmniHeat Electric jacket? They feature a guy named Wim Hof who can allegedly control his body temperature with his mind! I don't understand (maybe just because I haven't really done any research into it) how that works -- maybe he just doesn't "feel" the cold; I have a hard time believing he can actually manipulate his core temp at will -- but they say he's run marathons in sub-zero temps without shirt or shoes. Crazy, right? I don't think any of us will be doing anything like that any time soon, but I do think the human mind has a pretty significant degree of control over how the body reacts to stimuli, especially pain and stress. Glad you enjoyed the exercise; I did, too! :)

It's great that you were able to attain the results the speaker was talking about. I think I need to learn how to shut my mind off. Truthfully I hate doing yoga. It's hard for me to slow down. I find myself thinking, "Are we going to move onto the next pose." Not really what you should be thinking about.
ReplyDeleteHi Antonio,
ReplyDeleteThis is class introduced me to my first experience with blogging too! I am getting a little more use to it and working my way around to everyones blogs.
I found the exercise and breathing technique to be very relaxing and soothing as well. It really is amazing how if you open your mind and let it "go with the flow" of the suggestions that the sense of well-being and relaxation just moved through the body. I really could also feel the weight of the hands and the warmth through them.
Yep, definitely a pretty cool experience. One that like you, I plan on revisiting!

Hi Antonio. I enjoyed the exercise too. I performed the relaxation technique at work during my lunch time and it helped me get through the the rest of the day in better spirits.
ReplyDeleteI am also in unfamiliar territory with this "blog" activity.
